1. Did you choose the writing profession or did it choose you? The writing profession chose me.
2. What is your background? (education, work, etc.) Sales, sales management, sales consulting, financial and business consulting, fund raising. Some college.
3. When did you ‘know’ you were a writer? Hated English and history in school, but knew my book had to be written. And so when I started it surprisingly came naturally.
4. How would you describe your style of writing? Basic, down to earth, hit ‘em between the eyes style
5. What is your writing process? I do not write for a living. For me it was a desire to help others overcome failure.
6. What was your path to publication? Researching what was the best avenue to keep my independence.
7. What is your favorite self-marketing idea? Working smart, thinking hard...Using the networking system as in this case responding to this survey.
8. What are the biggest surprises you’ve encountered as a writer? That a writer without a reputation has to be more of a promoter.
9. How do you inspire yourself? What are your sources of creativity? I have complete confidence in my abilities and my self-image is as high as it gets. When I make up my mind nothing stops me. I create because I am creative.
10. What is your proudest writer moment? Meeting my goal of ten years to the month of getting my book on the market.
11. What’s the best advice you were given about writing? No one gave me any advice. As a matter of fact I was told that my book would never be published.
12. What is your most embarrassing writer moment? I have never had an embarrassing writer moment.
13. What business challenges have you faced as a writer? Keeping others on track. This is a people business, so you constantly have to remind your publisher that you are worth promoting and working with. Many mistakes are made by workers in the publishing business and there are incompetent editors. A writer has to be constantly vigilant.
14. What is your writer life philosophy? Knowledge is power, but imagination is the switch.
15. When you’re not writing what do you do for fun? Golf, charity, reading, bicycling, gardening.
16. Who do you like to read? Cook, Koontz, Peale, Napoleon Hill, Carnagie, anything history
17. What’s your advice for new writers? Believe in yourself.
18. What are you currently working on? Children’s Positive input stories. |
